About Blue Jay Building Services

Blue Jay Building Services provides commercial cleaning, floor care, janitorial, and building maintenance solutions across Manitoba. We are expanding our contractor network and seeking qualified individuals or teams who can provide onsite cleaning and maintenance services.

Position Summary

We are looking for experienced Cleaning and Maintenance Contractors to perform onsite services for commercial buildings, construction sites, and residential clients. Work is assigned on a per-service basis depending on client demand.

This is a contractor role, not an employee position. Contractors must be able to travel to locations within Manitoba and provide their own tools or equipment, depending on the services offered.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Cleaning & Janitorial Work

• General commercial cleaning

• Post-construction cleanup

• Washroom sanitation

• Dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming

Floor Care

• Floor stripping and waxing

• Buffing, scrubbing, and hard-floor maintenance

Property & Maintenance Tasks

• Basic handyman repairs

• Light maintenance

• Interior glass and window cleaning

• Move-in/move-out cleaning

Work assignments will match the contractor’s experience and capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• Must currently reside in Manitoba, Canada

• Experience in cleaning, janitorial, floor care, or maintenance

• Ability to work onsite in commercial or construction environments

• Ability to meet physical demands (lifting, standing, bending)

• Access to reliable transportation

• Ability to follow safety procedures and site instructions

• Strong attention to detail and professionalism

• Ability to provide own tools/equipment for specific services

Preferred Qualifications (Assets, Not Required)

• Business registration or ability to issue invoices

• WHMIS or safety certifications

• Portfolio or photos of past work

Contract Details

• Type: Independent Contractor (not an employee position)

• Compensation: Paid per completed service (rates vary by job type)

• Hours: As-needed, based on client requests and contractor availability

• Travel: Required within Manitoba service areas
